Originally trained in theatre and dance at Darlington College of Arts, he started composing music in 1990. He has worked closely with Russell Maliphant since Unspoken in 1995, as well as with Wayne McGregor, Akram Khan, Shobana Jeyasingh, Fyn Walker and Krakeel. Andy has written extensively for television documentary and film, including BBC’s Modern Times, Penny Woolcock’s Tina Series, Century Film’s The Railway and the most recently, Wild Picture’s series HMP Aylesbury. In experimental film and animation Andy has worked frequently with artists Paul Bush and Isaac Julien. Julien’s most recent work Playtime is showing internationally, while Paul Bush’s award winning feature film Babeldom continuous to tour festivals through Europe, as does his short film Lay Bare.
